AP Biology
AP Biology is a course equivalent to a two semester, introductory college course with students exploring topics in biochemistry, cellular biology, energetics, reproduction and development, genetics, organismal biology, evolution, and ecology. Students build skills in analyzing, synthesizing, and applying information related to the unity and diversity of life on Earth. Problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on lab work are important features of this course. Students successfully completing the course earn college credit after taking the AP Biology examination in May. Throughout the year, students enrich their understanding of the complex interactions between living and nonliving components found in nature at various levels of scale (molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecological).
