The primary objective of the history department is to prepare thoughtful, active citizens who can function productively in a rapidly changing and increasingly interdependent world. History courses at Maspeth are designed to equip each student with a solid grounding in the principles of history, government, economics, and culture. Through curricula that span from ancient civilizations to recent political developments, students apply the skills learned in their history classes to better evaluate the world around them.
