AP Language & Composition
AP Language is a college-level course in which students study rhetoric and its application in historical texts and speeches, and in their daily lives. Students will have opportunities to write Synthesis, Rhetorical Analysis, and Argumentative Essays using a range of sources. Students will study a range of texts and engage in Socratic Seminars & formal class discussions
Because 11th graders take the ELA regents exam, we will be preparing students to take these exams throughout the year through timed writing activities. Students
take the AP Language Exam in May, and the ELA Regents in June.
