Coach Schoenbrun said this team has shown something special in the pre-season and he wasn't wrong. With two matches this past week the boys made sure to take two wins. Coach has stated the boys are committed and working harder than any team he has coached so far, way to put in the work and stay united!
- 13 teams in action this week!

Some teams to note - Fencing making a comeback and haven't participated since 2018! Girls Wrestling scheduled to start this Tuesday, haven't competed since 2019!
- Girls Wrestling Still Adding Members!!
As the weeks have gone on, girls wrestling is still growing and looking for members. As we almost fill all weight classes, there is always still room for more. See Coach Tarantola in room 409 or email her at [email protected]
- Boys Volleyball takes in NYU v Vassar
Over the weekend the boys' varsity volleyball team took in some division 3 action, watching #8 ranked NYU against Vassar.
Match Recaps from last week:
- Girls Varsity Badminton
Taking part in their first match of the year, girls faced off last years undefeated division champions and unlike last year took a match from them, in a final score with Flushing Campus winning 4-1. Girls look to bounce back with 2 matches this week.
- Boys Varsity Baseball
Opening day for baseball is a past time we will never get bored of and our boys had theirs this past week. With 2 starting players facing injury, Coach Cretella was optimistic after facing a 11-0 loss to American Studies. Coach states the boys seem more connected, committed and excited about this season than previously. Coach states boys have been coming in for pitchers and catchers, as well as cage sessions. Boys look to get back into action this week with 3 games this week.
- Boys Varsity Lacrosse
With two matches this week, the boys lacrosse team enters the season looking to take command on the division. First game was against Cardozo, winning by a score of 9-8 thanks to Senior Ron Yong's 5 goal effort and Senior Peter Rodriguez chipping in with 2. Next up was Lehman Campus which boys took care of with ease, winning by a score of 12-2. Once again Ron Yong stepped up with 5 goals and Peter Rodriguez adding 3 of his own. Boys are back to business this week with 2 games at Randall's Island, make sure to come support!
- Girls Varsity Lacrosse
With their season opener taking place last week, our Girls Lax team took on Bayside HS, seeing many fresh faces, Bayside took the match by a score of 10-4. Although the girls may have been defeated, a ton of bright spots for a team on the rise. With a roster of 19!!! - in their first match, Nadine Moenifar took her place as first time goalie and made 7 saves, while returning junior Meabh Smith scored 4 goals! Other highlights came from Alexis Lara and Chanelly Guiracocha winning 7 and 9 ground balls.
- Girls Outdoor Track
With many girls coming over from winter track and fresh off breaking school records, they're looking to do the same this spring! Our Argos took their strides in the first meet of the season this past week, seeing 10 runners put their legs to work in the 100m, 200m, 800m and 3000m events.
- Boys Varsity Volleyball
With tremendous excitement and overwhelming high support, the boys opened their first official season last week. Unfortunately, it did not start off the way they hoped, losing to both Info Tech (last year's playoff semi-finalist) and Newcomers (last year's playoff elite 8). Promising moments shown by Senior Ian Martinez with some dominating blocks and Junior Alex Weremiuk swings on the outside. Boys look to get in the win column this week with three matchups scheduled.
