On Saturday, April 6th, the boys Outdoor Track team participated at The PSAL season opener held at ICAHN Stadium on Randall’s Island.
Frigid temperatures and cloudy skies cleared way for warm air and sunshine at the track today.
The boys competed in a variety of events throughout the day. Highlights included
- the boys 4x100m relay team finishing in 3rd place in their heat with a time of 51.9 seconds.
- Frankie V. finished in first in his 200 m heat with a time of 23.75 seconds.
- Freshman Charles K. finished in 2nd place along with Jason F. in their respective heats.
- Team captain Wilbert S. finished 3rd in his 200m heat.
When asked about the day Coach Mustac had this to say “Behind every dark cloud, is a bright blue sky. I believe this saying speaks volumes about our program and how we competed today in these conditions. It was really cold at first but warmed up as the day went on. Our compete level was at an all time high. The boys are starting to see the results of their hard work and it’s been fun. There’s a lot more meets to come so it’s a quick turnaround.”
The boys next meet will be on Wednesday, April 10th at Cardozo HS.
